Mt. Meru is the second largest mountain in Tanzania at 4566m.It is a beatiful volcanic cone and is used by climbers who want to prepare for the Kilimanjaro climb.There is only one route up the Mt Meru, the Momela route.
Mt Meru is located inside the Arusha National Park which has a great variety of wildlife.It has a large population of buffallo and climbers have to be escorted by an armed ranger on their way up and down the Mt Meru
